Kid’s & Teen’s Classes

Currently we are hosting parent/child/teen culinary and baking classes during the week beginning at 6:00 pm for ages 11-18, along with Parent/Child classes for ages 7-12 on Saturday mornings. 2025 Summer Camps for culinary and baking will be sent on our Kids/Teens Newsletter on Wednesday January 22nd around 10:00 am

When signing up, please pay attention to which class is for whom! We list the class style in the title and description. If you’d like to purchase a gift card, please visit our gift card page.

These award-winning classes are for real hands-on. We use local and organic ingredients and teach actual techniques. Participants will learn valuable skills while discovering just how much fun they can have in the kitchen. Plus, an added benefit of their hard work each day is when they get to enjoy a full meal they made themselves—from scratch.

We unfortunately do not offer private events or birthday party cooking classes for kids/teens. Parent/Teen/Child classes are paused during the summer while we host our camps.

 

SUMMER CAMP 2025: Updated 1/22/25

Our Summer Camp Schedule for Culinary and Baking is now available online for our 11th summer of camps (7th for baking). This information was posted on our schedule page here on Wednesday January 22nd at 10:00 am and was also included in our kids/teens newsletter. Culinary Camps are 5 days; NEW for 2025. Baking Camps will be 4 days.

There are 8 sessions of culinary; 3 for baking. We hope to add a 4th teen baking session at some point in the summer but that date is TBD. Please add yourself to any waiting list. If/when the 4th baking session is added, we will first contact everyone on a current baking camp waiting list.

*We understand that the sessions have filled up very quickly once they were posted on Wednesday morning. This surprised us as well! Different than larger camps, sessions are smaller in size for only 16 kids/teens per session. Please sign up for a waiting list for any session you’d like. We hope to continue to grow our camps to add more sessions and we sincerely appreciate the interest and enthusiasm of all the young chefs*

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO THE CLASSES WORK?

Each class is completely hands-on, interactive and a lot of fun. We bring all the kitchen supplies and ingredients you’ll need. You’ll be stationed at tables of four and will work with your table to produce the meal. If there are more than four people in your group, you may be split up. If you have in your group. E-mail us ahead of time!

WHAT ARE YOUR COVID-19 PROCEDURES?

These have changed in different ways from 2020 until present day. First and foremost, Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen is a company that has taken the pandemic with precaution and have always followed recommended guidance from county and health organizations.

Currently facemasks are optional for all guests and staff. We will continue to provide the safest environment for our guests and team members. Our team will urge and promote frequent handwashing and other sanitary practices. Please be mindful and respectful of those around you.

If you were to miss an event due to COVID-19 or other reasons, please refer to our cancelation policies which remain consistent for all.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN EACH CLASS?


Up to 24 guests attend each class, or six tables of four each in our main room. We have workshops and other events in our private room that holds 16 guests.

We can host larger groups for private events or team-building classes.

IS THERE A WAITING LIST FOR CLASSES THAT ARE FULL?

Yes. The waiting list is first come, first serve. If you’d like to be notified of any cancellations, please contact us. Please include the date and name of the class(es) you’re interested in.

WHAT IF I’VE NEVER COOKED BEFORE?

Sign up for our Beginner Class! We’ll go over the basics of the basics.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I COME WITH A FRIEND WHO IS NOT AS GOOD OF A COOK AS I AM?


Our recommendation would be to find a class level somewhere in between (we have five), but not too advanced. Since you’ll be working in a group, no one person will complete every part of the meal. The class environment designed to not be intimidating. Please be sure to stay within the cooking level that you are comfortable with.

DO I GET TO EAT WHAT I’VE MADE?

Of course! And please bring with you a reusable container to our cooking class. We are a sustainable first company whenever possible.

 

CAN I TAKE HOME A COPY OF THE RECIPE?

Sure. We make that easy for you by providing nifty recipe books. You can even take notes as we go along.

CAN I BRING MY OWN BEER OR WINE TO THE CLASS?


Unfortunately not.

Beginning Friday July 1st 2022, BYOB for drinks or snacks will not be allowed at Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen for all events. We have a great menu of wine, local beer and ciders, non-alcoholic options and snacks.

 

 

CAN I BRING MY SON OR DAUGHTER?

Only if they are above 21. We do offer weeklong Kids & Teens Culinary Camps in the summer and host hands-on cooking classes throughout the year for ages 7 to 18. Learn more about our programming for kids.

WHAT IF I SIGN UP FOR A CLASS BUT HAVE TO WORK LATE. CAN I CANCEL?


It depends when you let us know. Please refer to our cancellation and refund policies above.

DO YOU HAVE GIFT CARDS?

We do. We email certificates that can be presented as a gift.

DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE EVENTS?


Yes, we frequently host team-building, birthday parties and other gatherings. We can fit up to 24 in a regular private event. If you’re looking for a team-building idea, consider our Chopped Challenges. We also have a Tapas Tasting for groups up to 75 guests. In 2021, we added a new event called a Bake Off Challenge for up to 30 guests that is best held during the day while adding on lunch from our catering department

Policies

We get it. Life can be unpredictable at times. As much as we’d like to see you in class, something might come up. On our side, we’ve made non-refundable purchases and scheduled the appropriate staff, so we have to find a balance. Listed below are our policies—and some possible solutions for you if you can’t attend.

CANCELLATIONS

For public adult events.If you cancel up to 7 days before the class date, you will receive a full refund for the amount of your class ticket. If you cancel 72 hours in advance, you will receive 50% of your class ticket amount back. We cannot refund you for cancellations made within 72 hours of a class.

COVID-19 related cancelations for public events: If you are not able to join, please refer to our cancelation policies which remain the same for all.

Unfortunately there will not be an in-person cooking class credit to a future event, refund given, or ability to use for any other service provided by Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen. There are no exceptions to this policy.

For private events, please refer to event agreement form.

For kids/teens classes or camps, please refer to the specific event page as those are different than the policies listed here for adult events.

TRANSFERS

Our tickets are transferable, so think about your friends and family if you’re outside the window for a refund. If someone can take your place, you just have to let us know.
