It has been a passion of ours at Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen to not only teach both classic and modern cooking techniques and strengthen home cooks, but to do so in a wholesome way. We have been in development on this workshop for quite some time and we are so excited to offer it!
Our Mission with this 2-day workshop is to help provide nutrition-forward information on recipes and techniques that will better prepare you when catering to your own individualized health plan. All stages of life can present the need to understand this information and we want you to feel confident in the kitchen with whatever you are up against. It is important to not only know what quality ingredients and meals look like but also hone in on healthy cooking techniques too so you can have the most utmost success. Eating healthier can be intimidating but we want to provide you with the tools that make it more approachable.
Over the course of this 2-day series we will build on with different recipes and educational points that give you perspective on healthier choices on food!
Day 1 Menu: Friday, January 23rd: 6 – 9 pm
Focused Skills:
Focused Educational Points & Skills: Knife skills, the how-to’s to meal prepping, sourcing quality food ingredients and the foundation to a nutritionally balanced diet.
The first day of the nutrition series we will focus on the foundation to a nutritious diet, what is quality food, and gut health. You will learn proper knife skills & healthier cooking techniques. A lot of the recipes are made to be versatile for meal prep and be a foundation to your meal prep going forward after this series. We will also cover information on cooking vessels, utensils and useful cooking tools as well.
Day 2 Menu: Saturday, January 24th: 10am – 2pm
Focused Skills:
Educational Points & Skills: Different healthy cooking techniques, healthy dessert options, what is the Mediterranean diet and how to apply this course to your everyday life.
We will dive into a variety of cooking and baking methods. Many recipes/dishes mix several and it is important to know how they help to build flavor but also can be healthier techniques for cooking quality food. There will be a focus on what makes up the Mediterranean diet and why this series was built upon this diet. There will also be a focus on healthy baking alternatives in a recipe and fun ways to replicate some of your favorite sweets in healthy ways. We will also cover a variety of cooking methods for vegetables and how to get the most nutrients without overcooking them. With the conclusion of this 2-day nutrition series course you will be equipped with all the skills and knowledge to lead a health forward diet in your day-day life and how to make better decisions when it comes to the foods you choose to eat.
You’ll receive a recipe book and info pack to this workshop.
Notes: This 2-day series class can accommodate vegetarian preferences. Some of the recipes within this series do contain gluten, dairy, nuts and soy. Substitutes can be made with advanced notice when signing up.

-BYOB or packaged snacks are not permitted at Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen. We have a great menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks along with snacks.
-1 ticket is for 1 person. If you were to miss a day of the workshop you would not be able to receive any future credit unfortunately
-If you are joining as a single ticket you will be sharing a table with 3 other guests for a table of 4. Please note, just as in all CAK events each guest will be sharing equipment, tools, prep and ultimately the food they’ve made during the class with their table-mates. If you’re registering with 3 guests in your party, you may be asked to be at different tables (though near each other).

Ticket Cancellation Policy:
For public events. If you cancel up to 7 days before the class date, you will receive a full ticketed refund for the amount of your event ticket. If you cancel 72 hours in advance, you will receive 50% of your event ticket amount back. We cannot refund you for cancellations made within 72 hours of an event.
When a cancellation occurs, we open the ticket(s) on our website and contact the waiting list. If the tickets are filled prior to the event you will receive a future event credit for each ticket filled. You may also transfer your ticket to a friend to use.
Note: Transferring to a new event is considered a cancellation for the event you’re ticketed.

The parking lot entrance is off Yancey Rd. Our building is located on the backside of the brewery (Brewers at Yancey), which is the opposite part of the building as their front door. There is additional street parking off Yancey and Southside Dr. There is a staircase entrance to Bowers parking from Southside Dr located behind Escape Tactic.
