Spring Chicken Workshop – Daytime Class

Class Information

Learn to breakdown whole chicken and learn skills and techniques for cooking.

Led by Chef Alyssa

Friday, April 24th for a 10:30 am start.

In this workshop you will learn how to use a boning knife to break down your own whole chicken and then utilize it to create three main dishes using different techniques! You’ll also learn how to make chicken stock and chef Alyssa will demo how to spatchcock. One of the dishes will be enjoyed during class as lunch; the other two will be boxed to take home. 

This class is a great foundation skill the translates to making so many other dishes in the kitchen. Chef Alyssa will develop the final menu of dishes as the class approaches. She will utilize seasonal and local ingredients with versatile cooking methods. You can expect grilling, roasting and braising to be incorporated.

Note: This menu will be Gluten-Free. It can be made Dairy-Free with advanced notice.

Additional Notes

-BYOB or packaged snacks are not permitted at Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen. We have a great menu of  alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks along with snacks.

-If you are joining as a single ticket you will be sharing a table with 3 other guests for a table of 4. Please note, just as in all CAK events each guest will be sharing equipment, tools, prep and ultimately the food they’ve made during the class with their table-mates. If you’re registering with 3 guests in your party, you may be asked to be at different tables (though near each other)

Ticket Cancellation Policy:

For public events. If you cancel up to 7 days before the class date, you will receive a full ticketed refund for the amount of your event ticket. If you cancel 72 hours in advance, you will receive 50% of your event ticket amount back. We cannot refund you for cancellations made within 72 hours of an event.

When a cancellation occurs, we open the ticket(s) on our website and contact the waiting list. If the tickets are filled prior to the event you will receive a future event credit for each ticket filled. You may also transfer your ticket to a friend to use.

Note: Transferring to a new event is considered a cancellation for the event you’re ticketed.

The parking lot entrance is off Yancey Rd. Our building is located on the backside of the brewery (Brewers at Yancey), which is the opposite part of the building as their front door. There is additional street parking off Yancey and Southside Dr. There is a staircase entrance to Bowers parking from Southside Dr located behind Escape Tactic.
